What to check before wearing a gemstone bracelet

Stone name, metal, and fit decide whether a bracelet is comfortable to wear every day. Here is what to look at first.

What to check before wearing a gemstone bracelet

A gemstone bracelet is jewellery you may wear for hours. Comfort and an honest description matter as much as the colour in the photo.

Name the stone plainly

The product page should say the stone, for example red jasper or clear quartz, instead of only a benefit. If a page promises a result and never names the material, skip it.

Fit and skin

  • Measure your wrist and add a little room so the bracelet can slide, not pinch.
  • Elastic cords stretch. A bracelet that is already tight will get tighter after a few wears.
  • If your skin reacts to a metal clasp, choose a knotted cord or a metal you already wear without trouble.

Care

Take the bracelet off for bathing and sleep. Water and soap weaken elastic and dull porous stones. Store it flat so the cord does not stay stretched.
